Thanks for checking out my website! Ok so you want to know more about me. How about the elevator pitch?

“Hi! I’m Paige Shafer, a young designer with aspirations of working in branding and editorial. I’m hungry to learn, to design, and to impact.”

Truly, just speaking in elevator pitches isn’t in my nature. If you’ve looked through my website, I know you’ve already been given quite a few snippets of what I think about the world and why I love design, but let me leave you with one last thought.

The joy you feel in your chest when you’re taking in something you love? That’s what I feel when I create. As a designer, it’s not just the blank canvas (so to speak) that inspires me, but constant stimulation from the outside world. It’s why I’m always searching for beauty, because I need it to seep into my work. The colors I’ve seen while wandering through Cape Town, the coffee table book I leafed through in that hidden bookshop in Dublin, the street signs of Paris and Rome. I’m not seeking to create the revolutionary but I do want to build something new — a compilation of all the beauty that surrounds me. I always want my work to feel handcrafted and unique, never cold or corporate. 

I’ll never achieve perfection, but I can attempt to create work that has a human touch of intrigue. Whether a concept came to me immediately or after hours and hours of work, I always want the final result to feel completely authentic, like something made by hand.
